Hello hello! Did you all enjoy getting an extra hour of sleep over the weekend?! I did :) I wore this look last week on a very chilly day, and i’ve gotta say, i wish I could rewear it over and over again because it keeps me so warm. I’m glad I listened to advice from those of you who commented about me keeping this vest. It is puffy- that’s for sure- but it is such a fun addition to a look and seriously keeps me warm! So thanks to all of you! Today I’m playing with patterns, one of my favorite ways to make my look playful. Pattern-mixing works really well when you have at least one continuous color. In this case, both of the colors, taupe and black, are used in both patterns, but even if it were just one, this would still be wearable. You can go through your closet and try this out and I bet you’ll find tons of matches!

I’ve been using these OTK boots a lot lately because unfortunately, my black riding boots are totally destroyed. Ok, not totally, but broken-in and loved oh-so much that they are no longer black. So i’m currently on the hunt for another pair, but until then, I’ll keep wearing these lovelies! ;)

¡Hola hola! Espero que hayan disfrutado la hora extra de descanso de este fin de semana tanto como yo. Llevé este look durante un día muy fresco y tengo muchas ganas de utilizarlo otra vez. También tengo que agradecerles a ustedes que me sugirieron a guardar mi chaleco. Sí, es un poco grande y puffy, pero el chaleco es de abrigo y tiene una estampada linda. ¡Así que gracias a ustedes por las sugerencias!  Hoy juego un poco con las estampadas, una manera de dar un toque de juventud a mis looks. Mantener al menos que un color entre las estampadas es el aspecto clave a mezclar estampadas. En este look, ambas estampadas mantienen la misma combinación de colores- negro y gris topo. Ustedes deben de buscar entre su ropa para ver cuales combinaciones podrían crear.

He usado estos botas de arriba rodilla varias veces porque mis botas negras son destruidas. Bueno, exagero un poco por decir destruidas, pero casi no son negras porque las he usado tanto. Asi que estoy usando estas botas de Sam Edelman mientras que busco un nuevo par para el clima frío.

Happy Monday! It is sooo cold and windy over here in Boston (and from what I’ve heard, all of the Midwest, too!), so it was a must to throw on this coat. I originally ordered this jacket in cobalt blue online during one of the big sales, but I over-sized myself. When I went to exchange it in-stores, they only had this beige color, which I fell in love with. I love everything about the bold cobalt blue hue, but this coat will combine well with so many items. I was way too cold to take this coat off all day, so this was my look last Friday. Although these exact leggings aren’t available anymore, the pair I’ve linked to are on my wish-list. I like that the entire front i faux leather. And if you want a look-alike, the GroopDealz site is still selling them for under $20! Steal :)

¡Feliz lunes! Hace muchhhoo frío y viento aquí en Boston (y he oído que en el Medio Oeste también) así que tuve que ponerme un abrigo. Originalmente, compré este abrigo en el color azul cobalto en línea durante unas rebajas pero me quedó grande. Cuando fui a la tienda a intercambiarlo no había cobalto, pero encontré este color beige y me encantó ya que combinará con mucha ropa que tengo. Hacía demasiado frío todo el día, aún en mi oficina así que nunca lo saqué y por eso le muestro mi look del viernes. Y aunque no están disponibles estos pantalones, me encantan los que tengo en el link porque todo el frente está cubierto en piel. Y sí quieren lo que llevo aquí, todavía están disponibles en el sitio de web de GroopDealz y les costarán menos que $20. ¡Qué ganga!

Happy jueves (Thursday) everybody! Wahoo! I hope you’re all having a fabulous week…mine has been flying by! I wore this look wayyy back when on Monday to work (I threw on black pants for work, but changed into these jeans afterwards). I was deciding between my favorite flats since my feet were looking for some comfort, and Matt picked out these leopard flats. He has gained quite the eye for fashion! :) I love pairing animal prints with stripes, polkadots, floral… any print, really.  In my mind, it’s just like a neutral, so it pretty much combines perfectly with any other pattern and color. That could be a stretch, but I swear

I was inspired to pair this blazer with this specific blouse by the lining of the jacket, which play so well off of each other. This blazer is old, so my apologies for not finding a great similar piece, but if it ever comes around, I’ll be sure to let you all know. It is full or intricate details that make it well worth the $20 it cost me on a black friday two years back! The stitching is wide and visible, which i like. The gold buttons add elegance, and the ruched shoulders give the school-boy look some feminine flair. Not to mention the fit is tailored perfectly to enhance/create an hour-glass curve. So if you couldn’t tell, everyone about this look was based off of this blazer haha…. hope you like it!

¡Feliz jueves a todos wahoo! Espero que estén teniendo fabulosas semanas… la mía está volando en frente de mi cara rápidamente. Llevé este look hace díasssss el lunes para trabajar (llevé pantalones negros y cambié a estos jeans después por la tarde). Decidía entre mis zapatos sin tacones porque quería llevar algo muy cómoda cuando Matt me dijo que debería llevar los zapatos de estampada animal. ¡Tiene un ojo para la moda ahora, Matt, jaja! Me encanta combinar la estampada animal con otras estampadas, como las rayadas floreadas, a lunares, etc. porque veo la estampada animal con un básico que combina muy bien con todo. 

Me inspiración para este look vino del forro del blazer, que combina muy bien con la blusa. El blazer es súper viejo, así que no pude encontrar algo semejante, pero al momento en que lo encuentra, les avisaré porque es uno de mis favoritos. Vale los $20 que me costó porque tiene muchos detalles intrincados. Las puntadas anchas son interesantes, los botones dorados añaden elegancia, el forro es espectacular, y los hombros fruncidos cambien el blazer de la escuela para los hombres a una chaqueta femenina y estructurada. Crea una figura perfecta para las mujeres… como un cuerpo de guitarra. Si no se han notado todavía, este blazer es mi favorito y mi look fue creado simplemente porque tenía ganas de llevarlo…. espero que les gusten!

I’m back in Michigan for a very short, impromptu visit to celebrate and visit venues for wedding planning (let the fun begin!!). It’s so great to be back two months before I expected and see friends and family. I love these super flare jeans because they are super soft, a flattering fit, and I can wear my favorite wedges with them (or as my dad calls them, my stilts!). This blouse is part of the new fall collection at Ann Taylor and it is super versatile. I’m exited to dress it up more and play with color combinations- navy is definitely a neutral in my book, and this fit is pretty basic with a hit of femininity. My favorite!

Regresé a Michigan para una cortita visita para celebrar un poco y visitar sitios para la boda (ya empieza la diversión de planificar). Es una maravilla estar en Michigan dos meses antes de que esperaba, visitando mis amigos y mi familia. Me encanta estos pantalones porque me queda súper lindo y puedo usar mis zapatos de cuña que amo (o mis zancos, según mi padre). Esta blusa es parte de la colección del otoño de Ann Taylor y es súper versátil. Tengo muchas ganas de combinarla con muchos colores y estilos de ropa- ail marino es un neutral en mi opinión, así que puedo hacer muchas combinaciones. Además, el estilo de la camisa es básico, sino tiene un poco feminidad.  Mi favorito!
